When asked about the importance of safety and security within Missouri City, 98% of respondents stated it was very important or somewhat important. Residents’ overall satisfaction with Police and Fire services has continued to increase from 2016 and 2018 reports, with a total of 90% satisfied in 2020. Missouri City residents also ranked seven Police & Fire categories higher than the U.S and Texas averages, including how quickly Police & Fire respond to calls.

The ETC Institute, a full service call center for surveys, conducted the City's Citizen Survey in 2020, the target for this measure has its foundation in Citizen Survey data collected from the ETC Institute in the Southwest and the United States. The United States average is based on a survey the ETC Institute administered to over 4,000 randomly selected residents from all across the country, and the survey administered to 413 residents living in Missouri City. 

Creating a safe environment by providing superior public safety is a key goal of the City of Missouri City and remains a priority of many City processes, projects, and initiatives.

Citizen Survey - The City of Missouri City Citizen Survey is administered by the ETC Institute, an organization founded to assist local governments in gathering data from residents for the purpose of enhancing community planning.
