Smart City Initiative/Adaptive Signals

An Adaptive Traffic Signal System along corridors will continuously adjust and distribute the traffic signal green time based on the actual traffic volumes and real time traffic conditions. This will improve the travel time reliability, reduce traffic congestion and accommodate variable traffic volumes (for example weather, events or construction related). This initiative will extend the signal timing strategy effectiveness. This will also lead to reduction in the costs of traffic counts and eliminate the need for manual re-timing of the signals.
